Goodbye New York, Hello home

I  am back.  On the last couple days before we left, we went on the ferry past the Statue of Liberty.  The  Statue of Liberty is pretty cool. I’m surprised that the torch is still lit. Even though it was  raining it was pretty cool and it was actually on fire.

Then we went to Little Italy and Canal Street.  At Little Italy we had some really yummy seafood, oh mom had some meat, and my dad had some ravioli.  And on Canal’s street I bought a gold dragon.

Central Park is huge, it it’s like 20 blocks, we didn’t even walk all the blocks. We had like a half an hour and then we had to leave.   I went up to the top of a big rock.  You could see the city.

That’s when I went on the plane to go home and when I was on the plane to go home it was about five hours.   I am really happy.

I loved my trip! I wish I could do the trip again.   Oh, and if you want to go to New York or Philadelphia I feel you have you have to have to get the Philly cheesesteak and in New York get the Italian food

Sounds and looks like you had a wonderful, exciting and educational trip! It’s good to be home though! I just got home too, I went to Iowa to see my mother, she had fallen and broke her hip! I got to see the beautiful fall colors of all the trees, which I miss, living in Florida everything is green year round! I went to my nephews football game one night and just about froze! The temps. were in the 30’s and when I called Papa in Florida it was in the 80’s!

Hello Loki Just a note to let you know I was born in upstate New York and left there when I was almost nine. We lived out in the country and your great grandpa Safford worked at the General Electric plant in Schenectady, New York. He was an electrical engineer and very smart. They sent him to Pearl harbor to rewire the motors on the big battle ships that were bombed by the Japanese. He also joined the U.S.Air Force and was a tail gunner in a B29 bomber til the end of the wwII. I bet you could be an engineer some day because you are vey smart and learning a lot everyday. Love you Grandpa Safford

Hello again Loki Just another note did you know your great grandma Safford was an Italian? Her maiden name was Florio and you probably have lots of relatives in Italy even now. My mom made lots of Italian dishes especially spaghetti which I love to eat. Do you like spaghetti? Love Grandpa Safford
